Hikers started the morning off with a 9.2 km hike to Glasgow Lakes Look-off. This trail gives you a feeling for the highlands plateau. You will notice the wind swept barrens and vegetation similar to northern Taiga with stunted growth.  Cape Breton Highlands National Park  in its 5-year trail expansion plan will bedeveloping a new 3 km loop at Glasgow Lakes and an opportunity to visit Mica Hill.

The afternoon hike was at the popular trail at White Point that takes you out to Two Tittle. Here you are able to see incredible seacoast scenery and see Tenerife, Sugar Loaf and North Mountains. In the evening, hikers enjoyed the closing supper at St. John’s Anglican Hall in Ingonish and later the closing ceremonies to a packed audience.
