Mojo – A popular hiking term

Like the Group picture above on Franey,  mojo has become a popular phrase used each year at Hike the Highlands Festival.  One of our veteran hikers started using this phrase several years ago –  I got my mojo now, I am ok for the rest of the festival.  For most hikers, mojo it means that you are now in shape, your cruising on the trails and you are not tired at night after doing  2 hikes per day routine.

So I decided do my research, looking at wikipedia and urban dictionary. I found out mojo means other things as well, all good for hikers –

  • charm or spell,  sex appeal or talent
  • self confidence , self-assuredness
  • ability to bounce back
  • personal magnetism
  • magic
  • cool/style essence
  • better definition of swag
  • extra boost of energy

You will know when you got your mojo during Hike the Highlands Festival, it usually happens around middle of festival and everyone is smiling  more.
