Backpacker magazine website has a great video on getting un-lost with GPS. Hike the Highlands Festival is hoping to offer a workshop next year on GPS and hopefully geocaching. Did you know there is a Atlantic Canada Geocaching Association as well a Maritime Geocaching Association ? There is probably an organization nearby where you live as well and many geocachers.

Another great feature on the Backpacker magazine website is a column by Gear Chick – Kristin Hostetter where you can ask questions to the expert. Some of the more recent questions were – a) How do I prevent chafing ? b) Understanding the principles of layering ? c) How can I carry my trekking poles on a commercial flight ? and more. You should definitely have BackPacker Magazine website and her column bookmarked on your computer.
