Day 10 – Branch Pond Look-off

Today was the last hike of the festival – Branch Pond look-off. This trail 8 plus km takes you into the interior of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park in a barren area. You have a great view of Cape Smokey and North Mountains range. Hikers enjoyed a nice warm day on the last hike and many were cruising today. One of the GPS units indicated we were averaging 4.6 kms an hour. Looks like we got our mojo back.

The last day of the festival is hard for many hikers. You are packing up, reviewing some of the memories of the experience and saying good-byes. Alot of us made some great friends during the festival and its hard to believe the festival is now over. Reality sets in and you have to go back to work next week. The dates for next year’s festival is September 11-20, 2015. Hope you can attend.
