Freshwater Lake – Full Moon Snowshoe Hike

In 2013, Hike the Highlands decided to host three snowshoe hikes, one for each month and become part of the Hike NS snowshoeing series. Our first snowshoe hike was on Freshwater Lake , January 29th, during a full moon. The event was well received and attracted 24 people, from Sydney, Antigonish, Breton Cove and Ingonish.

The full moon hike was a great way to kick off our 1st snowshoe series. Special thanks to Hike Nova Scotia and Take the Roof Off Winter program (Recreation Nova Scotia)  for prizes and promotion.  The next two snowshoe hikes are Clyburn Vally in February and Bay Road Valley in March.
