Loons – Pleasant Surprise

Everyone once in awhile you get lucky on your walks and you see new things for photos. In mid-May, I had began hearing loons from a distance but could not see them.  Then in early June I starting seeing but from a long distance out. My wife had noticed they had liked this bay for feeding. By mid June they began coming in closer in the harbour and I was able to take a few photos with zoom lenses. Unfortunately, when I tried to crop the photo it is was greyish and blurry.

I waited and a few more days, they starting coming closer to the shore.. Then one evening, I noticed they were really close to shore and I managed to get the photos ( see above slideshow) . A professional photographer, Wally Hayes, once said to a group of aspiring photographers, 90% of the shot is being in the right spot at the right time. Patience paid off for me…
