Hike the Highlands festival is pleased to announce it will host a two-day “Outdoor & Nature “ Photography workshop with Wally Hayes, one of Canada’s best professional photographers & world renowned for his Wally Vision shows, on Sept. 13-14, 2018.

Workshop Description : The Outdoor & Nature photography workshop will cover a variety of subjects related to camera settings for various photographic subjects and choice of lenses and other accessories such as tripods, flash, filters etc. Part of the discussion, both in a classroom briefing and out on a field trip would cover camera technique, choosing and using lenses effectively, handling various lighting situations and other tricks of the trade.


Workshop Schedule – Thursday, Sept. 13 –   Classroom Session – 7-9 pm.  at St. John’s Hall, 35981 Cabot Trail, Ingonish (Bring your camera) 

Friday, Sept. 14 –  Field Work day.  

The workshop is limited to 20 participants. The cost of the workshop is $75.00 and you can register & pay online now. The first 10 who register and pay online will receive a special 15th Anniversary gift from Hike the Highlands Festival – a whistle & LED light. 

Wally’s Bio :

Wally has been an active professional photographer for many years. The first 15 years of his career were spent as a new photographer/reporter with The Canadian Press covering news assignments throughout North America, while working out of Halifax, Vancouver & Toronto. For the last 25 years, Wally has photographed Nova Scotia extensively for the Nova Scotia Tourism department and his personal library, film & digital, numbers over 750,000 images. He is well known in the industry for his  ‘WallyVision’ shows. An elaborate multi-projector, multi-screen audiovisual shows which he has taken to audiences around the world.
