2019 Festival Day 1 Highlights
Thirty -seven hikers enjoyed the evening hike on the opening day of the 16th Annual Hike the Highlands Festival, September 13, 2019. Hikers were treated to a great view of the Ingonish area on top of Broad Cove Mountain. Hikers later went back to the festival headquarters – St. John’s Hall, Ingonish to enjoy the opening ceremonies.
Day 2 hikes (Sept. 14) included Sunrise hike on Middle Head, Slatey Point hike and North Bay Beach. Tonight presentation back at the Festival Headquarters is the “Coast to Coast hike in Northern England, 182 plus miles long.
