3 Peaks Challenge
Hike 3 breathtaking summits in one day!
The 16th Annual Cape Breton Highlands 3 Peaks Challenge will take place Saturday, June 13, 2026. Teams will hike 3 mountains in one day. Tentatively, they include 1) Squirrel Mountain 2) Roberts Mountain and 3) Acadien. Teams hike approximately 16 km plus with an elevation of approximately 3500. The 3 Peaks challenge is a team event that requires teams to hike 3 mountains in one day. Each team consist of 4 members, one of which is a team captain. It is his/her responsibility to prepare the team for the event and make sure everyone on the team competes the event safely. Only 20 teams will be allowed to participate in this event. Teams can be all female, all male or mixed.
Team Registration fee for this event is $200.00 and includes a long sleeve t-shirt for each team member, one Cape Breton Highlands National Park car park pass for one day, a map and other items.
Online Registration & online payment is a two step process. 1) Complete the team registration form and submit, and 2) Then complete online payment. Your team is registered once you have completed both steps.

Information for Registered Hikers:
- Check in time begins at 6:30am
- Please check in with the 3-Peaks Personnel at Pleasant Bay Elementary School parking lot 456 Red River Road, Pleasant Bay. Keep an eye open for HTH sandwich boards. There will be one in Pleasant Bay at the intersection of Cabot Trail and Red River Road and one at the school driveway.
- We will have a team group photo before you head off on your challenge at 7:00am

- Text when you have finished all 3 peaks text Nancy MacDonald 902-233-1820
- Keep your team in sight for your safety
- Keep an eye open for HTH sandwich boards, they will direct you to trailheads
- You may hike the trails in whatever order you wish after the first trail
