With spring almost around the corner, this is a great time to check your hiking equipment & supplies for the upcoming hiking season. I have included a checklist for you to help begin the process. You want to review each item for its condition, if it needs repairing or replacing. Usually in April or earlier the hiking and walking magazines review the latest hiking gear and rate it. My favorite time of the year.
Checklist – a) hiking boots, b) hiking poles, c) gaiters, d) hiking pants & shorts, e) base layers – short & long sleeves, f) rain gear, g) daypack, h) sunglasses, i) hiking socks, j) jacket & other layers, k) hats, l) sunscreen, m) insect repellent, n) Camera gear & batteries and memory cards, o) hiking maps & guide books, p) apps for hiking trails, sunrise & sunsets, etc q) headlamp & batteries, r) first aid kit & supplies, s) survival blanket, and t) hiking gloves.
