Day 10 – Virtual Festival

Some of the last hikes were Forest Hills (PEI),  Branch Pond Look-off,  Uisge Ban Falls, La Foret Blanche(Que). Where did the ten days go. September 20th is also the 40th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run. Terry Fox created the Marathon of Hope in 1980 in which he would run close to a marathon every day for 143 days totally 5,373 km. On Sept. 1, 1980,  Terry had to stop because of coughing and chest pains. Cancer came back and enter his lungs.

The marathon of hope raised over $23 million in year 1. Then in 1981 the Terry Fox run began.  The run has raised over $750 million (to 2018) to help find a cure for cancer.  You can walk, hike, run or cycle in the Terry Fox Run.

In our daily poll question – 71% hikers said they would participate in the Terry Fox Virtual Run in 2020.
