International Trails Day – June 7

May 24, 2008 By Tom Wilson Uncategorized

International Trails Day is celebrated on the first Saturday in June- this year June 7th.  One of the best ways to celebrate is to get your hiking boots out and go for a Hike with your family and friends on one of the hiking trails in your area.  This is also a great way to start getting in shape for the upcoming hiking season.  Remember if this is your first hike of the season for you, start slowly with a short hike first.

The Pictou County Trails Association will be celebrating International Trails day by launching Nova Scotia’s first long distance trail – The Cape to Cape Trail.  This 400 km trail from Cape Chignecto in Cumberland County to Cape George in Antigonish County explores some of the highest ground on mainland Nova Scotia with great views of the Northumberland Strait and Minas Basin.  Their web site will be launching soon – www.capetocapetrail.ca
